The Author

Susan Mayes graduated from Leeds University, UK, with a degree in Creative Arts, studying art and literature. She began her writing career as an author of children's non-fiction, later spreading her literary wings to write children's picture storybooks, as well as creative early learning titles. She is a previous winner of the Science Book Prize awarded by COPUS - The Committee on the Public Understanding of Science.

The Illustrator

Holly Giblin graduated from Falmouth University UK with a BA in Illustration before working as an illustrator and designer specialising in publishing. Clients included Harper Collins, Random House and Marks and Spencer, among many others. When she isn't immersed in creative work, Holly likes nothing more than pottering in the garden of her Devon home, exploring nature with her kids and listening to music from the golden era of the late 60s/early 70s. She dislikes it when the coffee beans run out.
